Choosing between the 2022 Ford Edge and Nissan Rogue isn’t as complicated as it might seem. Our comparison guide is here to help you take a closer look at these sporty modern crossovers. By the time you get to the end, you’ll know which one you prefer.
Lowest Price: 2022 Nissan Rogue
Because it’s technically a compact crossover, the Rogue has a much lower price tag. We expect the 2022 Rogue to start around $26,700.
The bigger Ford Edge, a midsize crossover, has an MSRP that starts at $36,145. If you want more space for your loved ones and a stronger performance, this higher price tag is worth your while.
Interior Space & Comfort: 2022 Ford Edge
As a midsize crossover SUV, the Edge offers more space for you and your family than the compact Rogue. That’s especially true when it comes to cargo space. Behind the rear seats, the Edge has 39.2 cubic feet of cargo space. The Rogue’s 31.6 cubic feet can’t cater to your busy lifestyle in quite the same way.
And the Edge also gives you a few extra inches of leg and shoulder room in both rows. That makes it the better option for families who want to spend their time on the road in complete comfort.
Best Standard Lineup: 2022 Ford Edge
Both crossovers come standard with lots of comfort, tech, and safety features. For example, both models help you avoid trouble with forward collision mitigation and blind-spot monitoring.
However, the Edge takes the lead here, thanks to its cutting-edge SYNC 4 infotainment system, which includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a 12-inch touchscreen. The Rogue version has a standard 8-inch touchscreen and the wired versions of these smartphone features. The Edge also comes standard with six-speaker audio, while the standard Rogue system has four speakers.
Power & Performance: 2022 Ford Edge
Unlike most other midsize crossovers, the Edge is available with two powertrain options:
- 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine (250 horsepower, 280 lb-ft of torque) + eight-speed automatic transmission
- 2.7L turbo V6 (335 hp, 380 lb-ft) + seven-speed automatic transmission
The turbocharged four-cylinder engine is standard on most Edge models. The performance-based ST model gives you a speedier ride with the turbo V6.
Because the Edge now comes standard with all-wheel drive, you can expect a very sporty ride. Whether you’re taking on a sharp corner or cruising to an off-road campsite, the all-wheel-drive Edge will help you maintain your cool.
With the 2022 Nissan Rogue, only one powertrain is available:
- 1.5L turbo three-cylinder engine (201 hp, 225 lb-ft) + continuously variable transmission (CVT)
Compared to the Edge, the Rogue feels underpowered. However, we do like the new CVT, which can switch between speed-friendly and fuel-efficient modes. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional for all trim levels.
Your New Crossover
The 2022 Nissan Rogue gives you a great deal on a new ride, but the 2022 Ford Edge offers greater comfort, more passenger space, and a much more impressive performance. Choose the Edge for the best all-around daily cruiser.
