2023 Ford Edge vs 2022 Ford Edge

The Ford Edge went up a bit in price in 2023, much like all other vehicles, as a result of price increases, lasting effects of the chip scarcity and more, 2023 vehicles prices have mostly gone up across the board. On top of that the Ford Edge had quite a few different administrative changes made to it. On the ST model the perimeter alarm is now standard and there is a new available appearance package. The honeycomb grille has now been made standard on the SE and SEL trims. Fog lights now come with the available convenience package on the SEL trim.

This is similar to what was new on the Ford Edge in 2022, a few various standardizations and the addition of a few available packages. For example the SEL received an available Adventure package which upgraded the vehicle with faux leather seats, all terrain tires, and gray and black exterior accents. All in all not many drastic changes have been made to the Ford Edge in the past couple years.

The Ford Edge does a good job on saving you money at the pump. On the low end it gets 19 mpg in the city and 25 mph on the highway. On the high end the Ford Edge gets 28 mpg on the highway and 21 mpg in the city. The Ford Edge is a great vehicle and is quite competitive as a crossover. The only thing it lacks is a hybrid engine to make it truly competitive across the board. On top of getting impressive gas mileage, the Ford Edge is incredibly fun to drive even with the base four cylinder. However to make things even more fun, it is necessary to select the Ford Edge ST which provides a 2.7 liter twin turbo V-6 engine that outputs 335 horsepower. This is the engine that falls on the lower end of the spectrum and gets slightly less impressive gas mileage.

Between the 2023 and 2022 Ford Edge there is no real difference. The two vehicles are identical mechanically and there are not any differences in paint either. The main difference will be in seeing if you can get a deal on the outgoing model year since the new 2023 models have since come in. If this is the case then going with the 2022 Ford Edge would be preferable. For those of you who need the best and the newest, the 2023 Edge would be the better option.
