When you are looking to purchase a 2020 Ford F-150 truck, two high-end available models are the Platinum and the Limited. We are going to do a side-by-side comparison to help you decide which model is a better option for you.
Size
One thing to note about these two trim options is they only come in the SuperCrew® (4 door) configuration. The biggest difference in size is with the Platinum you can select either a 5 ½’ bed or 6 ½’ bed, whereas the Limited only comes with a 5 ½’ bed. They both seat up to 6 people, which is a huge advantage over other trucks in the same class.
Exterior Features
When it comes to the exterior features of these trucks, there are just a few things that differ on each model. For example, the Limited has different accent colors for its Grille, Handles, Side Mirrors, and Skull Caps, and has Wheel Well Liners. The Limited also comes with a Twin Panel Moonroof where the Platinum does not. The Limited has 22-Inch Polished Aluminum Wheels, whereas the Platinum comes with 20-inch Polished Aluminum Wheels.
Both the Platinum and the Limited have some incredible features including a Remote Tailgate Release, Automatic on/off Headlamps with Rainlamp Wiper Activated Headlamps, Auto Dimming Driver’s Side Mirror, Heated Side Mirrors, and Wiper De-Icer. Another awesome feature that’s included with both models is what is called the BoxLink™ System. This system is a universal interface system that comes with lockable tie-downs and can be switched out with a variety of other available accessories such as dividers, ramps, storage, and bins.
Interior Features
The Limited Trim has a 360-Degree Camera with Split-View Display, Active Park Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go. Those features don’t come in the Platinum Trim.
The Platinum and Limited Trims are both well equipped with many high-end features such as an 8” Productivity Screen, Dual-Zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control, Heated Seats and B&O™ Sound System. They both have integrated SYNC® 3, FordPass Connect™ with WiFi Hotspot, and Voice-Activated Navigation with SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link®.
Powertrain
The Platinum comes standard with a 5.0L V8 Engine with Auto Start/Stop Technology and an Electronic Ten-Speed Automatic Transmission with Tow/Haul and Sport Mode. You also have the option to switch to the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost® with Auto Start/Stop Technology.
